Mood Music

It’s incredible how music can influence our mood, how songs bring out so much emotion and evoke memories.  Some songs come on and we just cannot stay in our seats, we need to get up and get after it, while other songs may remind us of not so happy times, and can take us right back to that part of our past.  It’s been interesting to see how important music is to members of our online community, it really is a common theme in many peoples lives.

Think back to a happy time in your life; a wedding, graduation, birthday parties, I am more than willing to bet that you can tie some songs in to those very specific memories.  The same can be said for not so happy times and the corresponding soundtrack, the flood of memories we would rather forget.  The power of music is undeniable, the way we use it to influence ourselves is totally in our control, whether we realize it or not.

We all have bad days at work or at home, it’s part of life and it happens to everyone.  When I find myself in a rut, music is almost always the first thing I turn to, listening to some upbeat songs or old school tracks that take me back to my childhood is a sure way to lift my spirits.  Honestly, whenever Get Lucky comes on, how many of you don’t start moving to the beat with a smile on your face?  Go on, try it, feel that toe tapping going on right now?  If your day has not been going as planned, hopefully it just got a little bit better.
